Le canal de Panama est un canal maritime, qui traverse l'isthme de Panama en Amérique du Sud. Sa construction a été l'un des projets d'ingénierie les plus difficiles jamais entrepris. Après l'échec de la première tentative française qui débuta en 1880, ce sont les USAs qui termina le travail commencé et le canal ouvrit le 15 aout 1914.

The Panama Canal is a maritime canal, which crosses the Isthmus of Panama in South America. Its construction was one of the most difficult engineering projects ever undertaken. After the failure of the first French attempt which began in 1880, it was the USAs who completed the work begun and the canal opened on 15 August 1914.

Some Greek islands are dependent on weather conditions. This can be scarce to access it. Fortunately, the crew members are used and are to take care of everything.

Le premier brevet décrivant la notion d'embarcation utilisant des foils est déposé en 1869 par le français Emmanuel Farcot, ingénieur mécanicien, auteur de nombreux brevets. Ce n'est qu'après presque un siècle et demi que la première vedette utilisant des foils voit le jour!!!!

The first patent describing the notion of a boat using foils was deposited in 1869 by the French engineer Emmanuel Farcot, author of numerous patents. It is only after almost a century and a half that the first star using foils is born !!!!

Un orque sauvage, nommée Luna, semblait perdu quand elle est apparue près d'un petit bateau à moteur de gens. Sur cette vidéo, cette grande baleine tueuse  fait un bruit très similaire au moteur du bateau, peut-être essaye-t-elle de communiquer avec les gens ?
A wild Orca, named Luna, seemed lost when she appeared near a small motorboat of people. The great killer whale kept making a very similar noise to the motor of the boat, perhaps trying to communicate with the people.

Au moment du déchargement de ce ferry, une des amares se rompt et le bateau est emporté par le fort courant. Même a faible vitesse, le ferry a emporté plusieurs conteneurs qui venaient d'être déchargés. Ce sont les autres amares qui ont stoppés le navire. Fort heureusement, il n'y a que des dégâts matériels.

At the moment of unloading of this ferry, one of the amares breaks and the boat is carried away by the strong current. Even at low speed, the ferry took away several containers that had just been unloaded. It was the other amares who stopped the ship. Fortunately, there is only material damage.

Les vrais pilotes d'hélicoptère sont capables de se poser n'importe ou quel que soit la météo. Si c'est vrai en théorie, c'est encore plus impressionnant dans la pratique comme le montre cette vidéo.

The real helicopter pilots are able to land anywhere regardless of the weather. If this is true in theory, it is even more impressive in practice as shown in this video.

Même pour les pécheurs aguéris, il est difficile de prendre un moment de repos devant un DVD surtout par gros temps. Ont-ils des ceintures de sécurité pour dormir sans être inquiétés ?
Even for seasoned fishermen, it is difficult to take a rest in front of a DVD especially in bad weather. Do they have seat belts to sleep without being disturbed?

Si naviguer sur un bateau est agréable, le moment le plus difficile est sans doute l'amarrage sauf pour ce capitaine qui est capable de controller avec précision son bateau et d'effectuer cette manoeuvre en moins de 10 secondes...

En une belle après midi, en Nouvelle-zélande, des plaisanciers ont vu leurs projets tomber à l'eau. Leur embarquation, prête pour une grande randonnée nautique, prendre feu. Les 2 réservoirs de carburants étant plein, ils avaient peu d'espoir de retrouver leur bateau. Mais c'etait sans compter sur le héro du jour qui n'a pas hésité à sauté dans son hors bord, et foncé sur l'embarcation en péril. C'est en utilisant la puissance de son moteur et la vague crée en tournant brusquement qu'il parviendra en quelques passages à éteindre l'incendie. Quelle maîtrise...
A beautiful afternoon in New Zealand, boaters have seen their projects fall into the water.
